Kristin Salber-Black is a clinical psychologist from Brooklyn. Her husband, Jason, a product manager for PayPal, is from Sullivan County in North Central Pennsylvania.

Despite their different backgrounds, they saw the four-bedroom, 2½-bath Victorian in Ridley Park as a good fit.

They knew the area, having rented there for three years. Kristin liked its walkability and easy access to the commuter train.

Jason liked the fact that the house, built in 1880, had a small-town feel, so they bought in 2016.

But now, with both mostly working from home, they find themselves needing more room for them and their 2½-year-old son, so they are moving to a larger house in Swarthmore.

The house overlooks Ridley Park Lake and has hardwood floors throughout thanks to a reclamation project undertaken by the couple.

The huge great room takes up one side of the house and is the focal point of the home. It has exposed beams, a stone fireplace, built-ins, bench seats, and oversize windows.

The open kitchen has an eat-in area, and the formal dining room with French doors leads to a three-season sun porch.

There is also a first-floor laundry, a large mudroom, and access to the paver patio and rear yard.

The bedrooms are on the second floor, along with two bathrooms.

Philadelphia International Airport is less than 10 minutes away, Philadelphia and Wilmington less than a half-hour away, and I-95 and shops and restaurants are also close by.

The house is in the Ridley School District. Total square footage is 3,218. It is listed by Jess Mudrick of BHHS Fox & Roach-Media for $429,900.
